Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a type of polymer (a chain of molecules strung together) found all throughout your body.
It retains up to 1000 times its weight in water. This means that if you apply it to your skin, it can draw any moisture from the air and infuse it into your skin. However, if not used properly it can actually dry your skin out. This is why it's blended into our Face Lotion and Smooth & Firm Tightening Cream. I wanted to make sure there were plenty of other ingredients that will help lock in the moisture.
The most common cause of wrinkles is dehydration. So adding HA topically can smooth and heal fine lines and wrinkles and prevent future wrinkles. Especially when it's combined with other hydrating ingredients!
I recently changed the type of HA that I use our products and the results are amazing! The new HA I use is called "High Molecular Weight". It absorbs into the skin rather than remaining on top of the skin. Thus, providing more plumping and smoothing power!
